CSEE&T 2020 seeks original research papers on novel ideas, methods and techniques for software engineering education as well as education experience & industrial training reports. Contributions may concern all fields of software engineering education, among others, university education at graduate and undergraduate level, industrial training, as well as teaching software engineering at various kinds of secondary schools. We invite submissions on any aspects of software engineering education and training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The special theme of CSEE&T 2020 is \u201cEducating for the Future<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>. Therefore, we particularly encourage submissions dealing with the use of new methods and technologies to improve software engineering education and training, and we seek contributions related to the challenges and issues when teaching these new achievements to learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The list below indicates\nareas of software engineering education in the focus of CSEE&T 2020.\nSubmissions on additional topics consistent with the central theme of the conference\nare also welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We seek original high-quality submissions adhering to the IEEE formatting guidelines (https:\/\/www.ieee.org\/conferences\/publishing\/templates.html<\/a>), in these categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Authors are invited to submit papers describing original research in relevant areas of software engineering education and training. Papers presenting actual research results, or in-depth analysis of experience with delivering courses and training units in different settings (schools, universities, industry, governmental entities, etc.), or describing theoretical or empirical research, new techniques and tools, novel interpretation and in-depth case studies, are all welcome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Research papers will be evaluated based on originality, technical quality and relevance to the field of software engineering education. They should clearly relate the work described to the relevant literature and provide an adequate evaluation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Short paper submissions that address software engineering education and training topics are also invited. They are intended particularly for reports of less substantial work, or of work that is still in progress (such as experience with a particular educational tool or support environment), or they may discuss a promising idea at an early stage, or an idea that may lack complete evaluation. Even so, it is important that short papers relate the work described to the relevant literature and attempt to evaluate it as far as possible. Conclusions should focus on aspects interesting for others working in related areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Problems and challenges papers emphasize serious problems and challenges to be tackled in future software engineering education research. It is expected that these challenges and problems have been discovered and are reported with scientific rigor. Particularly, empirically validated research is welcome. While these papers focus on the problem side it is not expected that solutions are already in existence. Even so, it is important that problems and challenges papers relate the work described to the relevant literature and attempt to evaluate it as far as possible. Conclusions should focus on aspects interesting for others working in related areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For 2020 CSEE&T will continue to use the IEEE double column format<\/a> for its proceedings. All submissions must conform to this format, and must be within the page lengths specified for the class of submission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For research papers, CSEE&T 2020 will feature a double-blind review process<\/a>. Each paper has to be prepared in accordance with established guidelines for double-blind reviews (i.e. omitting the authors names, referencing own work in the third person, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Submissions that do not adhere to the formatting guidelines<\/a>, are not blinded by the authors, or do exceed the page limits, will be desk rejected without further review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All papers must be submitted electronically through EasyChair at https:\/\/www.easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=cseet2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Please observe the Important Dates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. All accepted submissions are subject to registration and presentation at the conference as a condition for publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Each\npaper is evaluated by at least three members of the program committee. After\ndiscussion of the paper and the reviews by the program committee the final\ndecision is made. With each accepted paper at least one (co-)author has to\nregister as delegate before the camera ready deadline and present the paper at\nthe conference. Otherwise papers will not be published in the conference\nproceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oral presentations will take approximately 20 minutes with additional time of 10 minutes for discussions. Detailed information regarding presentation times for each individual paper category will be made upon program creation. Presentations should focus on triggering discussions for the benefit of both, the author(s) and potential adopters of the concept presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All submissions must be original and must not have been published previously or currently be under consideration for publication elsewhere. It is expected that submitted papers comply with the ACM plagiarism policy and the IEEE policy on authorship. Prior to preparing papers for submission, potential authors should read the CSEE&T Researchers Guide, found at http:\/\/conferences.computer.org\/cseet\/CSEETResearchGuide.pdf<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Preference will be given to submissions that either describe experiences and\/or provide sound scientific data, as compared with ones that simply present untested ideas or that deal with well-established approaches which have been thoroughly covered in previous conferences.
