Nevertheless, we would like to share some best practices with you in hopes that these will help ensure a positive conference experience for everyone:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>General Conduct<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Be kind!<\/li><li>Be <strong>critical<\/strong>, but <strong>positive<\/strong>! No one likes a jerk, but <strong>we appreciate your opinion<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Be <strong>supportive<\/strong>, but speak your mind.<\/li><li>Feel free to <strong>share your ideas<\/strong> with others! Others will share theirs with you.<\/li><li><strong>Discussions <\/strong>are what breathes life into CSEE&amp;T. Don&#8217;t be shy to ask or comment on anything, through voice or chat.<\/li><li>When you join before the session has officially started,<strong> say &#8220;Hello!&#8221;<\/strong> Take the time to chat with others.<\/li><li>Allow us the pleasure of your acquaintance, &#8220;CoolDude42.&#8221; <strong>Use your real name!<\/strong><\/li><li>If your participation bothers others, we might have to remove you from the session. Sorry in advance.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Audio \/ Video<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>When you enter a session late, please be sure to <strong>mute your microphone when entering a session<\/strong>. To avoid disturbing others session participants<\/li><li>Don&#8217;t forget to <strong>unmute before speaking<\/strong> \ud83d\ude09<\/li><li>Be sure your microphone is <strong>not too far<\/strong> away \/ quiet<\/li><li>Be sure your microphone is <strong>not too close<\/strong> \/ too loud.<\/li><li><strong>Use a headset!<\/strong> Those echos and feedback noises are awful.<\/li><li>To create a feeling of &#8220;togetherness,&#8221; you are strongly encouraged to<strong> enable your webcam whenever possible<\/strong> (unless connectivity issues prohibit this).<\/li><li>We might mute you or turn your video off for you to improve other participants&#8217; experience.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>Use of Chat \/ Breakout Rooms<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Audio contributions are great, but <strong>chat is an alternative<\/strong>! Use chat to discuss with others in the session, post questions, comments, or thoughts.<\/li><li>Please understand that some might follow chat closely, but your post might also get overlooked. Please <strong>don&#8217;t be upset if we&#8217;re not answering your question<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Want to talk more with someone? <strong>Have a virtual coffee in a Breakout room.<\/strong><\/li><li>&#8230; again: be kind!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Joint IEEE \/ CSEE&amp;T Event Conduct and Safety Statement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CSEE&amp;T and IEEE believe that science, technology, and engineering are fundamental human activities, for which openness, international collaboration, and the free flow of talent and ideas are essential. This event seeks to enable engaging, thought-provoking conversations that support IEEE\u2019s core mission of advancing technology for humanity. Accordingly, we are committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all participants, including staff and vendors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CSEE&amp;T and IEEE have no tolerance for discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form at this events. All participants have the right to pursue shared interests without harassment or discrimination in an environment that supports diversity and inclusion. Participants are expected to adhere to these principles and respect the rights of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We seek to provide a secure environment at its events.
