There are many upcoming technologies that promise to bring our lives to a new amazing level. Robot taxis, buses, delivery vehicles allowing you to get anywhere or to transfer things. Smart assistants who predict our actions and adapt the environment for them. Smart houses and cities that optimize traffic flows, save energy, ensure safety, and comfort for all. This is the world of tomorrow. Today we are working on the implementation of this vision as part of the JASS2020 school.

The main objective of the school is to develop and implement scenarios for autonomous navigation for cars and drones in a Smart City Environment. Participants will reconstruct the infrastructure of an existing smart city using SLAM technology. The goal is to teach drones and cars to autonomously move around the city, interacting with each other, to manage traffic.

During JASS 2020, we will dive into the following topics:

  • SLAM: Simultaneous Localization and Mapping
  • Fleet management and multiagent systems
  • Duckietown: Smart City Modeling
