Walid Maalej leads a research group on human and context factors in software engineering at the Technische Universität München (TUM). He holds a master (Dipl. Inf.) and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the TUM. He also received a degree in Technology Management from the CDTM, an institution of the Bavarian Elite Network. Walid’s current research interests include recognition of engineers’ intentions, context-aware infrastructures for knowledge workers, knowledge sharing in distributed teams, as well as ’marrying’ software engineering with the semantic web. Walid has more than 20 peer-reviewed publications on these topics. He served in several international events, such as the 17th IEEE Requirement Engineering Conference as industry chair, the Social Software Engineering work-shop series (3 times) as co-organizer, and the Managing Requirement Knowledge workshop series as co-organizer (4 times). He also served as consult-ant for Siemens Singapore, Deutsche Telecom, and Rohde & Schwarz. Walid is the initiator of the TeamWeaver open source platform, and the scientific coordinator of the EU pro ject FastFix. Walid is distinguished by the Werner-von-Siemens-Ring foundation as Germany’s Junior Researcher in Informatics for 2010-2013.

Raian Ali is a research fellow at LERO (The Irish Software Engineering Research Centre), Ireland. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Information and Communication Technology Doctoral School at the University of Trento, Italy. He has been a visiting researcher at Centre for Research in Computing at the Open University,UK. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Information Technology and Computer Science, at University of Trento. He served as a reviewer for the International Requirements Engineering Journal and several international conferences and workshops (CAISE, ER, AA-MAS, ICSOC, AOMIP, WOA), and he is a program committee member of the International Workshop on Requirements Engineering for Social Computing (RESC’11). Raian’s current research interests include software engineering for adaptive systems, contextual-requirements engineering, dynamic software product lines engineering, society-driven software adaptation.
